I blogged about Minneapolis' conversion project in August.  1st Avenue was converted to a two way this past Sunday.  Here's a local story about the conversion.  The public is grumbling about the change, but we need to evaluate the innovations after the newness has worn off.  Unfortunately, the City installed more than twenty signs with the word buses spelled as "busses."  According to Merriam Webster this is a legitimate derivation for the plural of bus (but it is not the common usage).

091012052315_busses I saw a protoype of the sign in a presentation on the project.  I mentioned the busses "typo" to one of the presenters and he said they caught that.  Maybe the City decided to introduce the less common spelling to us Minnesotans (or is that Minnesotaites?).
