Designer Daan Roosegaarde has been working with Heijmans Infrastructure to develop low cost technologies to improve roadways. Below is a one minute video showing several of their ideas. I like the photo-luminescent paint which charges during the day and then glows in the dark for about ten hours at night. According to the company websites, this technology will be deployed int he Netherlands this summer. I'm very curious to see how the test turns out.
