Nikki Sylianteng came up with a great redesign for no parking signs in New York City.  She’s absolutely correct – the way our industry posts these signs does not clearly answer the two important questions motorists have:

  1. Can I park here now?
  2. Until what time?

This struck a chord with me because we have similarly confusing parking signs in downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul.   Below shows a typical sign with her re-imagined sign.  It may need some type of different hatching/texture for color blind folks, but overall, I love this concept!
