Traffic Counter Used to Convict Driver in Fatal Crash

By Mike Spack

traffic counter, traffic data collection

Patrick Corridon over at Metro Count shared the below letter with me.  You can read more here.

It turns out, one of their customers had a tube counter out on a gravel road south of a fatal crash location.  MetroCount was able to extract data on the speeding vehicle that ran into and killed a motorist heading in the other direction.  I assume it was a pretty low volume road since it was gravel, which would make picking a specific vehicle out of the data download straightforward.

We’ve captured a few fender bender property damage crashes with our CountCams.  We haven’t been asked to testify in court, yet….  nice work MetroCount!
