Video of Crazy Traffic in the Middle East

One of our COUNTcloud customers sent in some insane videos from Saudi Arabia for us to count.  I’ve seen videos of grid lock and videos of people weaving all over, but this is a new one for me.

Drivers are hopping curbs and going the wrong way on the road to jump queues.  Us Americans can complain about our “crazy” traffic, but we don’t deal with anything like this.  I would have thought the curbs would keep people in place.  I guess physical barriers would need to be impossible to cross physical barriers for these Saudi drivers.

We  clipped out a couple of minutes from the video, sped it up and added some lighthearted music (and I can’t imagine being the pedestrian at the 7:33:40 mark on the timestamp).  Enjoy!

  1. I have a sister-in-law from the Philippines, and, from what I understand, they have the craziest traffic in the world. My brother said people would turn right from the far left lane and drivers don’t really stay in their lanes. Apparently random people will start directing traffic at times!
